If you are reading this, it means that Bruce’s constitutional board appeal has failed and the only remaining option for him is the appeals courts of Ontario, which will take a long time. In turn this means the new CUSA president for at least some portion, and probably the whole portion of 09-10 is Erik Halliwell.
In the words of Michael Moore, “We are living in fictitious times with a fictitious president”. I think this quote is Prudent to bring up, as we all know now George W Bush actually Lost to Al Gore in the 2000 election, and Erik Halliwell actually lost to Bruce Kyreh-Addo in the 09 CUSA election, yet both of them where elected to their respective positions through a judicial decision discounting the will of the electorate.
Once again, Carleton students are stuck with a fictitious and left-wing extremist (revolutionary Marxist), free speech hating and dirty politics playing president we now find ourselves with at CUSA. It is with this seemingly inescapable system, that I have decided a just time start this Blog, this blog will have a strict aim, namely to keep “Eyes on CUSA”. Not just any eyes though, critical eyes, eyes that will see through the lies and deceptions and report the truth. In this, I pledge to you, my readers to report every wrong doing CUSA does. I will leave no rock unturned to expose the truth. For too long CUSA has acted without critical oversights, it was clear in this election that students had finally had enough of CUSA antics and wanted a new direction for their student union. This blog will keep that vision alive and will make sure you the reader know what CUSA is really up to.
Do not get me wrong, I do not disagree with CUSA entirely, there are some great things that CUSA does. Olliver’s is a great example, I feel however, that the negative things CUSA does far outnumber the good things they do, and there are already enough mouthpieces to spout off what CUSA does through rose tinted glasses, and yet so few voices (although they have been gaining steam recently) that will report the honest truth about CUSA activities, this blog will join the rising tide of voices that have decided to throw of those rose tinted glasses.
To Mr Halliwell, I urge you and your fellow CUSA hack friends to politically tread carefully from now on, and to actually represent the students, instead of a small percentage, as we pay you to represent ALL of us, not one segment. Actually, disregard that, Mr. Halliwell, if you have any sense of honour and ethics in you, I urge you to step down now, and give the presidency to its rightfully elected president, Bruce Kryeh-Addo. Failure to do so will just show your lack of Ethics and honour in regards to the political sphere.
